The Rapid RH® Total Reader® combines the Easy Reader and the Smart Reader into one convenient device using Touch and Sense technology to make it easy to obtain readings for up to 5 seconds. The Total Reader works with the Rapid RH L6 Smart Sensors to read relative humidity (RH) and temperature from the concrete, while its built-in sensor reads ambient conditions at the same time. Optionally, concrete and ambient readings can be automatically sent via Bluetooth® to the FREE DataMaster™ L6 app.
When transferring sensor data to the FREE DataMaster L6 app on your smart device, the number of readings that can be stored is only limited by the storage capacity of your smart device. This new Rapid RH L6 integrated data storage capability makes it even easier to prove the validity of your readings at any time in the future. Plus, it generates PDF reports that can be sent to the client directly from your mobile device. The combination of the Total Reader and the DataMaster L6 app is a complete data reading, storage, and reporting system that provides comprehensive data integrity.

Frequently asked questions
I still have 4.0EX sensors, how does the NEW Total Reader affect me?
You’re still working with the best concrete RH test in the industry. Feel free to use the rest of your 4.0EX Smart Sensors.When you’re ready to replenish your sensor stock, simply order a new value pack of L6 sensors. You’ll also need the NEW Total Reader and the Rapid RH L6 Insertion Tool. Once you have these, you’re ready to make a seamless transition to the next generation of RH testing technology for a relatively small additional investment. We’re confident that you’ll be impressed with the added features.
How and when do you replace the Total Reader battery?
The Total Reader will read “LO” when the battery is running low. The Total Reader comes with one CR1/3N battery. To replace the battery, open up the battery cover by removing the one battery cover screw with a jeweler’s Phillips screwdriver. DO NOT OPEN UP THE FULL BODY OF THE TOTAL READER AT ANY TIME.
How long will the display on the Rapid RH® Total Reader stay on?
The display on the Rapid RH® Total Reader will toggle between RH (%) and temperature readings for a period of five minutes before it turns itself off.
Does my Rapid RH® Total Reader need to be calibrated periodically?
No. Each Rapid RH Smart Sensor has an embedded calibration from the factory.* The Total Reader simply displays what the Smart Sensor tells it. Therefore, no calibration is necessary.
Should I Choose a DataGrabber, Total Reader, or True Remote Monitoring?
The right choice depends on your specific needs:
- DataGrabber with Bluetooth: This is the Rapid RH’s automatic on-site monitoring. When you leave the DataGrabber in your L6 Smart Sensor you can collect interval readings when you aren’t around the jobsite. On return to the project site, you can automatically upload stored data directly to your smartphone directly while using the FREE DataMaster L6 app.
- Total Reader: Rapid RH’s hands-on monitoring is a one-time reading, where you place the Total Reader device in the L6 sensor to collect your ambient reading. Hands-on monitoring allows you to track data manually or pair the Total Reader with the DataMaster L6 app, automatically uploading data when inserting the device into the sensors.
- True Remote Monitoring: With True Remote Monitoring, you can view real-time jobsite conditions from anywhere in the world—so long as you have cellular network connectivity. This system combines the best of Rapid RH moisture measurement technology with the latest software, hardware, and cloud connectivity technology from Floorcloud.
