The L622 Digital Recording Moisture Meter is the most feature-rich model in our L600 series. It includes PC-based reporting software, the capacity to store over 5,000 readings directly on the meter, and the option to add the L722 Lumber Stack Probe accessory for detecting hidden moisture deep within stickered stacks of lumber.

The L622 is designed for rugged industrial environments, making it the ideal choice for efficient and reliable wood moisture measurement. Its larger scanning plate and ergonomic handle allow for faster, more efficient scanning of wood, while its deep reading capability is perfect for lumber and wood products ranging from 1” to 4” in thickness.

For added versatility, the optional L722 Lumber Stack Probe enables moisture measurements within stickered packs of lumber, identifying hidden areas of higher moisture. Combined with PC-based reporting software, the L622 ensures precise moisture control for stringent quality requirements and consistent lumber production. Data can be easily transferred to your computer using the included USB-RJ11 cord.

Like all Wagner moisture meters, the L622 accurately measures the moisture within the wood—not just on its surface. Its readings remain virtually unaffected by surface moisture, ensuring dependable results every time.

The meter is equipped with 32 user-selectable species settings by name, which can be customized to suit your needs. With the included Stat Pak software, recording and comparing moisture data is seamless and efficient.

The L622 features a backlit LCD screen for easy readability. Its intuitive menu system guides users step-by-step through the selection, storage, and reporting process, simplifying even the most complex tasks.

Why Industry Experts Love the L622 Digital Recording Moisture Meter

Kalesnikoff Lumber

User-Friendly and Reliable Meters
“The L622 creates many efficiencies for us. It provides us with an informative report summary that can be effectively used in helping determine the required drying needs of our lumber at any given time. And with the meter’s ability to store numerous grouped readings in its memory, our kiln operators find success with managing multiple kiln audits at any one time. The Wagner Meters provide us these advantages while doing it on a very user-friendly and reliable platform.”
Brad Mason | Manufacturing Team Leader, Kalesnikoff Lumber

Burl and Grain Logo

Accelerates Kiln Turnover with Accuracy and Efficiency
“Making sure we are using the Stack meter from Wagner, investing in that means that we can shorten the amount of time in which we are turning over kilns and with a better accuracy. We want to be able to go through and test as much as that wood as is coming out of the kiln before it hits our planer and feel confident that what we’re pulling out is dry… without needing to de-stack or pull stickers.”
Matt Farrell | Co-owner, Burl & Grain

Shelton Structures Logo

You’re Not Doing Damage to the Wood
“We like the Wagner hand-held moisture meters simply because you’re not doing damage to the wood. We don’t have the luxury with our products to be taking off a lot of surface once it goes into the moulder or planer, so we don’t want to have some pinholes in the wood. The guys with the moisture meters with the needles would argue, ‘Oh, that will clean up,’ but not when you’re taking a sixteenth of a cut off the face.”
Paul Ericson | President, Shelton Structures

Ed Cunningham

Tech Onsite Same Day
“We couldn’t live without moisture meters. We’ve had people come to us who have rejected other mill’s products because there was too much moisture variance. Wagner’s always produced a good moisture meter and we’ve relied on them to take care of us. If we have an issue with Wagner’s Meters, they can usually have a tech onsite that day.”
Ed Cunningham | Sales Manager, Rough & Ready Lumber

Swanson Group Manufacturing

Great Customer Service
"Our goal is to always increase the effectiveness and efficiency of our operation. Using Wagner’s moisture meters help us track and control our output. Their technology makes this portion of the job much easier. Wagner’s also got great customer service. They get right on it when it comes to answering questions or addressing concerns, but they also call to check in on us to see if we need anything or if they can offer any help."
Bryan Vigue | Dry End Superintendent, Swanson Group Manufacturing

Ken Kalesnikoff

Tight Tolerances and Reliable Products
“When we started making lamstock and other high-end products, we had to get their moisture content within tight tolerances or risk losing grade value. That’s when we started utilizing the Wagner products because we really needed to make sure our moisture contents were right on.”
Ken Kalesnikoff | President, Kalesnikoff Lumber

Teal-Jones Lumber

Moisture Meter Saves Us $300,000 Annually
“The L622 also does something else the pin meter couldn’t do. It allows us to download an informative report summary to a computer which we can print out. It’ll give me an average of the recorded moisture readings, graphs, and the overall MC of each charge. So it’s been a real viable tool for us. I estimate it saves us conservatively $300,000 annually due to savings in time, energy costs, and the effort that’s spent drying the wood.”
Kerry Cogburn | Teal-Jones Lumber
