Frequently asked questions

How long will the display on the Rapid RH® Total Reader stay on?

The display on the Rapid RH® Total Reader will toggle between RH (%) and temperature readings for a period of five minutes before it turns itself off.

What is Touch-n-Sense™ Technology (for L6)?

Touch-n-Sense™ is our patent-pending technology, integrated into the Rapid RH® Total Reader to enable it to automatically take a reading when placed in contact with the Rapid RH® L6 Smart Sensors. Once the bottom of the Total Reader makes contact with the Smart Sensor, it takes a reading. The Total Reader holds the reading for 5 minutes, even when removed from the test hole. It also sends readings to your mobile device via Bluetooth®. It’s just that easy.

Does my Rapid RH® Total Reader need to be calibrated periodically?

No. Each Rapid RH Smart Sensor has an embedded calibration from the factory.* The Total Reader simply displays what the Smart Sensor tells it. Therefore, no calibration is necessary.

What is the Smart Logger V2?

The Smart Logger V2 is an ambient conditions data logger monitoring temperature and humidity conditions at the jobsite, home, and anywhere else environmental conditions may become a concern.

How Does the Smart Logger V2 Work?

The Wagner Meters Smart Logger™ V2 is a low-energy temperature and humidity data logger featuring the latest Bluetooth® 5.0 technology and a NRF52832 chip. It collects temperature and relative humidity readings from the surrounding environment and records them as historical data. The Smart Logger V2 can store up to 16,384 temperature and relative humidity measurements. Any smartphone or smart device with Bluetooth 5.0 or above can download and install the accompanying app to store and monitor the temperature and relative humidity of the environment as conditions change.

When Would a Smart Logger Be Useful?

There are a handful of potential applications for the Smart Logger V2 to provide value monitoring ambient conditions here are a few:

  1. Construction/building environmental monitoring
  2. Wood products shipping and transport
  3. Perishable items (food, medicine, flowers, etc.) transport
  4. Refrigerated storage and shipping
  5. Archive rooms/vaults
  6. Laboratory testing and storage rooms
  7. Museum displays and storage

What is a DataGrabber with Bluetooth?

The DataGrabber with Bluetooth gives you the ability to automate the collection of in-site relative humidity (RH) test data because of its integration with the Rapid RH L6 system. This device enhances your data collection and documentation, saving you time from manually storing and capturing moisture testing data.

How does a Data Logging Device work?

Your DataGrabber device automates the data collection process by connecting with a Rapid RH L6 Smart Sensor and then allowing a microchip built into the sensor to store time and date-stamped RH and temperature readings on a periodic basis—for days, weeks, or even months at a time while you are away from the job site. This device is designed to work in conjunction with the DataMaster L6 app With this app, you can configure time intervals for collecting RH test data, keep a running clock of acclimation time, download the time- and date-stamped readings to your smart device, and generate and send reports. The data you collect can help you gain a better understanding of the drying process as well as the dynamics that may be affecting the concrete drying time.

What is the C555 Concrete Moisture Meter?

The C555 is a preliminary concrete moisture meter that helps pinpoint “hotspots” of moisture in concrete slabs. Determining these problem areas can help discover where to place Rapid RH L6 Smart Sensors.

How Does a Concrete Moisture Meter Work?

The C555 evaluates to ½ inch below the surface, making it a valuable tool for optimizing sensor placement and ensuring precise in situ RH testing results with ASTM F2659 to provide a preliminary evaluation of comparative moisture conditions of concrete, gypsum cement, or other floor slabs and screeds. It can be used to identify pockets of high moisture levels to determine the optimum placement of Rapid RH® L6 Smart Sensors.

When are Moisture Meters Useful for Concrete?

The only moisture meters that provide accurate readings of moisture levels in concrete will be labeled “Concrete Moisture Meter.” They are distinguished from other moisture meters by internal circuitry that is calibrated exclusively to read the moisture level in concrete or similar materials by sending an electromagnetic wave field into the concrete and interpreting the capacitance signal received by the sensor pad. A concrete moisture meter that complies fully with ASTM F2659, like Wagner’s C555, can be used to determine higher or lower concentrations of moisture within a concrete slab. Concrete moisture meters should never be used to determine the moisture condition of a concrete slab at the time when flooring materials will be applied.
